Contact Shot and Scale

Coffee beans dropped into a cup on a digital scale, contact Shot and Scale with gear questions

Contact Shot and Scale: we read every message.

Corrections, gear questions and topic ideas are all welcome.

Questions, corrections or gear ideas?

We read every message. Good reasons to write:

  • A correction. Spotted a wrong spec, an old price or a discontinued product? Tell us and we’ll check it.
  • A gear question. Not sure which scale fits your machine? Ask, and it may become a guide.
  • A topic request. Want two products compared? Suggest it.

We usually reply within a few days. We don’t accept paid placements or guaranteed positive reviews.

Before you contact Shot and Scale

Your question may already be answered in one of our guides. Each one explains the trade-offs in plain language and lists the specs that matter, so it’s worth a quick look before you write. These are the guides readers ask about most:

If you’re reporting a correction, include the guide’s title and what you think is wrong, with a link to the manufacturer’s page if you have one (for example, Breville’s official site for Breville specs). That helps us check it quickly. You can browse every guide on our espresso gear reviews page.

What happens after you contact Shot and Scale

Every message is read by a person. Corrections are checked against official manufacturer documentation, and if a guide is wrong, we update it and adjust the date it was last checked. Gear questions that come up more than once are added to our list of future guides, so the answer can help other readers too.

We only use your name and email to reply to you. We don’t add you to a mailing list unless you sign up yourself, and you can read more in our privacy policy.

Contact FAQ

How long does it take to get a reply?

We usually reply within a few days. Corrections to specs, prices or compatibility are checked first.

Do you accept paid placements or sponsored reviews?

No. We don’t accept paid placements or guaranteed positive reviews. Some links are Amazon affiliate links, which we explain on our affiliate disclosure page.

Can you recommend gear for my specific machine?

Send us your machine model and budget. We can’t reply to every request individually, but common questions often become new guides.

What should I include in a gear question?

Tell us your espresso machine model, the grinder you use, your budget and what you mostly drink, such as straight espresso or milk drinks. If the question is about fit, include your drip tray clearance or portafilter size. The more specific the details, the more useful our answer can be.

Can I ask about a product you haven’t covered yet?

Yes. Tell us the product name and what you’re comparing it with. We can’t cover everything, but questions that come up often are the first to become new comparisons.

Can I ask about espresso machines too?

Yes. Most of our guides cover scales, grinders and accessories, but we’re happy to hear questions about espresso machines. They help us decide which machine comparisons to write next, and the answer to a common question often becomes a full guide that other home baristas can use.
